Information about CF Monterrey Rayados Reserves (Under 20 team)

CF Monterrey Rayados won the 2010 Apertura Mexican 1st Division championship in December of 2010.  Monterrey has one of the best fan bases selling out their home matches for the past 5 years.  Producing some of the best talent to come out of Northern Mexico, the reserve and youth program in Monterrey is one of the strongest in all of Mexico, regularly producing some of the best talent for professional levels.  This was followed up with the North American Championship, CONCACAF Champions League winners.  Monterrey beat Cruz Azul of the Mexican league and MLS’ Real Salt Lake to take the title.  Monterrey will now be representing our Continental region in the Club World Cup against the other champions, including FC Barcelona.

“Our consistent form with the 1st team is because of our attention and success with our Under 20 and Under 17 reserve teams.  Our ability to develop and immediately move players up to the first team has allowed our success and we’ll continue this process in 2011.  These matches in July in the USA will give us a great chance to evaluate our young talent and see who may be the next 1st team players coming up”, Hector Beccera, fuerzas basicas director, discusses.
