Derek Broadley, head coach for the Knoxville Force during the 2011 season, has signed on to be the Director of Coaching of the Knoxville Force and Lady Force for the 2012 season. He has achieved the highest level of coaching licensure in the United States and Europe. Broadley holds a Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) “A” license, is a graduate of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) “Master Coach” program, and has served as Technical Director of the Bermuda Football Association. He has worked successfully to improve player, team, and coaches’ performance in Knoxville, Bermuda, the United Kingdom, and North America.
Stephen Lyons will serve as the Knoxville Force’s men’s head coach for the 2012 season. Lyons, who served as the Force’s assistant coach last season, has played and coached soccer in England and the United States, including playing for Tennessee Wesleyan College where he is currently the men’s head soccer coach. He led the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs to 14 wins this season. Josh Scott has also signed on again with the Force and will serve as Lyons’ assistant coach. Scott has been a part of various professional academies in England and Finland as well as playing in semi-professional and professional development leagues. He is currently the men’s assistant soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at Tusculum College.
Fields Brown will serve as the Lady Force’s head coach for the inaugural 2012 Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) season. Last season, Brown was the assistant head coach for the Georgia Revolution of the National Premier Soccer League and assistant director of coaching at Rockdale Youth Soccer Association in Conyers, Georgia. Brown was also the women’s soccer assistant coach at Wofford College from 2005 to 2009. He currently holds the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Advanced National Diploma and NSCAA National Diploma.
Jason Goss, General Manager of the Knoxville Force and Lady Force, stated that “the coaching staff we have assembled for our soccer teams is truly outstanding. They all have tremendous backgrounds and experience and have established themselves as highly successful coaches in the field of soccer. We look forward to bringing Knoxville soccer fans an exciting level of men’s and women’s soccer throughout the 2012 season.” The Force and Lady Force will begin tryouts in late December and league play gets underway in April.
